metered mail
Definition
Mail sent in large quantities by an organization that uses printed or stamped images form a postage meter rather than individual stamps for postage. Metered mail can be a more efficient way of handling postage for high-volume situations, as the application of metered stamps is much faster than individual stamps and metered postage can be purchased at lower cost due to volume.
