minimum quote size
Definition
A minimum number of shares which market-makers must show in order to be displayed and therefore traded on the London Stock Exchange's SEAQ (stock exchange automated quotation system). Outside of the UK, the American stock exchange, NASDAQ also has a similar limitation. However, this minimum can be circumvented by certain high level NASDAQ executives in the event that the price per share is more than $200.
