mortgage suitability
Definition
When advising consumers on a mortgage loan, lenders could be held accountable for steering these customers to unsuitable types of mortgages. Although there is not federal suitability that exists at this time, lenders are much opposed to this standard as they state that it is impossible to know everything possible about a consumer prior to issuing a loan.
