net advantage to leasing

Popular Terms
A measure in current funds of the savings resulting from the lease of an asset rather than its outright purchase by either an individual or a business. This can be calculated by looking at the rate of interest on borrowing money and therefore purchasing the asset, versus the asset's possible depreciation. If this number is a positive value, a lease is advisable; if the number is negative, buying is advisable.
