Definition
Activity, conduct, or situation (such as loud noise, offensive odor, obstruction of traffic) that causes annoyance, inconvenience, or interference with the use or enjoyment of land or building (private nuisance), or with the comfort, health, or safety of the public (public nuisance). Private nuisance is a tort (liable for fine) and public nuisance is a crime (liable for imprisonment or greater punishment).
