pendente lite
Definition
Contingent on the outcome of a lawsuit still pending in the courts. A 'pendente lite' injunction, for example, remains in force (to preserve the status quo) only until an associated case is decided. Latin for, while the action is pending. Written also as lite pendente. See also lis pendens.
