pink sheets
Definition
A privately owned company that provides a real-time quotation system listing bid and ask prices for over-the-counter stocks. The term Pink Sheets originated when the National Quotation Bureau issued daily and weekly lists of quotations for small domestic and foreign stocks on pink paper. Since 2000, investors have been able to access Pink Sheets online at www.pinksheets.com.
