A gathering of individuals who have been recently laid off or who anticipate being downsized. Pink slip parties first gained popularity after the dot com bubble burst in 2000 leaving many people out of work. The purpose of this type of gathering is for professional workers to network with recruiters and socialize with other job seekers in a casual environment.
