In electronic commerce, device that consolidate transaction data between a large merchant and a credit card processor (authorization center). For example, an electronic cash register/point of sale (ECR/POS) power platform connects all ECR/POS terminals to a single authorization center for credit card transaction settlement, using only one telephone line.
