price immunization
Definition
An investing approach that involves the purchase of securities with a certain return as estimated by an asset-pricing model, enabling the investor to cover future liabilities. A typical portfolio is made up of investments with low uncertainty, such as bonds with a medium or high rating. Because of their large and estimable future liabilities, annuities and pension funds use this strategy more than most investors.
