An individual who provides a select and personalized set of accounting services exclusively to one client, typically a high-net-worth individual or corporation. A private accountant may be an employee of the client, or may operate as an independent accountant. Focusing on a single client, allows a private accountant in many cases able to offer a higher level of service through greater familiarity with the full workings of the client's business interests.
