Definition
Estimated quantity of energy source (such as coal, gas, or oil) which, based on geologic and engineering evidence supporting proved energy reserves, can reasonably be expected to exist and recoverable with presently available technology at an economically viable cost. Site information for probable energy reserves is insufficient to establish with confidence the location, grade, and quality of the source. Also called indicated reserves or probable energy reserves.
