Definition
A non-governmental organization (NGO) whose members are countries or nations rather than solely individuals or other organizations. A QANGO performs functions often undertaken by governments. For example, the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the Red Cross can be considered quasi-autonomous non-governmental organizations. Also called QUANGO.
