quick-rinse bankruptcy
Definition
Bankruptcy procedure that is resolved within a short period of time compared to regular bankruptcy procedures because the quick-rinse procedure bypasses the court, which would have delayed the process. The phrase arose during the financial crisis in 2008 when companies like General Motors (GM) had to quickly file in for bankruptcy.
