Definition

Method of quoting exchange rates in which a currency is quoted in terms of how many US dollars (or what fraction of a US dollar) are required to buy one unit of the currency. In the other method (called European terms) a foreign currency is quoted in terms of how many (or what fraction) of its units will buy one US dollar.
