reciprocal statutes
Definition
Complementary laws enacted in two or more states. For example, two adjoining states might enact uniform laws on corporate taxation to keep companies from playing one state against the other. Reciprocal statutes might also establish uniform treatment of such things as banking practices and environmental protection.
