Definitions (2)
1. Securities: Date on which a stock or unit holder must own the stock or unit to be entitled to receive a principal, interest, or dividend payment on it. Also called distribution record date.
2. Records: Official date of a record when it was prepared, authorized, signed, or issued. If more than one date is shown, usually the latest date is considered the record date.
