recycle ratio
Definition
In the oil industry, the measure of a company's production efficiency based on its finding and development costs (F&D). The ratio is found by dividing the profit from each barrel produced by the cost of finding the barrel of oil. Companies that are able to replace its oil production at lower costs will have a higher recycle ratio which is an indication of a more profitable operation.
