rehabilitation tax credit
Definition
Income tax credits provided to individuals completing qualified renovations, reconstructions or restorations of buildings. Rehabilitation tax credit is 10% of expenses for buildings in service before 1936; 20% for certified historic structures. Hurricane affected properties in specific locations receive a higher credit of 13 to 26%.
