sales-revenue driven expenses
Definition
Variable operating expenses (such as sales commissions) closely associated with, and varying in close proportion to, changes in sales revenue. Although not listed separately in income statement, these expenses are an important item of management accounts. Also called sales driven expenses. See also sales-volume driven expenses.
