selection line

Definition

An area in a warehouse from which items are selected during order picking. Ideally stock-keeping units (SKUs) should be labeled and arranged in the warehouse area to create a selection line system that makes it easier for personnel to locate and pull the desired items quickly and with minimal errors for a high level of accuracy in order fulfillment. For example, two different SKUs that are often ordered together might be stocked in the same selection line area. Also called pick line.
