serial shipping container code (SSCC)
Definition
Eighteen-character identification code used mainly for non-standard product mix containers. SSCC consists of two-character application identifier followed by one-digit packaging type, one-digit country code, six-digit manufacturer identification number, nine-digit shipping container serial number, and one check digit.
