Definition

Classical typeface that (unlike a Sans Serif type) has extensions at the letter's termination points which enhance its appearance and readability. Serif type is considered more suitable for large bodies of text than the other (sans serif or script) kinds of typefaces, and is used in printing of most newspapers, magazines, books, etc.
