shirkah
Definition
A type of business partnership under Islamic financial law. Under a Shirkah, two or more individuals combine labor or capital in a business endeavor, either by jointly owning a property or asset, or by entering into a contract. Shirkah participation may be entered into voluntarily, or inherited from a family member.
