Originally, Scandinavian buffet-style lunch consisting of several cold dishes, it now means a supper-buffet offering a wide variety of hot and cold dishes (hors d'oeuvres, cheeses, relishes, salads, smoked and pickled fish, different meats, etc.). Swedish for, sandwich table.
