spot market
Definition
Commodities, foreign exchange, or securities trading market (usually over the counter and not through an exchange) for cash payment and almost immediate (7 business days for commodities and securities, 2 business days for foreign exchange) delivery. Also called cash market or physical market. See also futures market.
