statistical solution
Definition
A solution that is grounded in and supported by hard data. In light of facts, the statistical solution allows for a certain degree of confidence and risk in its hypothesis, therefore making it more reliable than a solution based on assumption. For example, a detective who attempts to solve a crime looks for support through forensic evidence to determine the facts of the originating incident. Using a statistical solution is therefore more reliable as it frees one from underlying prejudice.
