striking off
Definition
Process of removing an incorporated or registered firm from the register or roll kept by the governing statutory agency such as registrar of companies. Striking off may be (1) on the request of the firm itself after cessation of business activities, (2) on non-filing of accounts and other statutory requirements, or (3) on non-response to the statutory agency's mail sent to the firm's official (registered) address.
