suggestive mark
Definition
Word, picture, or symbol that only suggests but does not describe some aspect of an associated good or service. For example, 'Diehard' for a car battery hints-at but does not explicitly describe its expected longevity. Suggestive marks are considered distinctive in their own right in copyright law, and do not require evidence of a secondary meaning for legal protection as a trademark. See also descriptive mark.
