Ability or authority to interact with a computer system, resulting in a flow of information; a means by which one may input or output data from an information source. Access implies authorization or proper clearance. Interaction with a computer or information system without authorization is termed hacking (see hacker) or cracking (see cracker), and is a criminal offense in many countries.
