toner
Definition
Finely powdered ink used in copiers and laser printers and usually sold in a self-contained and sealed unit called toner cartridge. During the copying or printing process, the toner is electrostatically charged to adhere to the printer drum charged with opposite polarity. After transferring to the paper, the toner is fused in place by a heating element.
