total net value added (TNVA)

Definition

Evaluation of a firm's total contribution to the society in terms of three forms of societal values: economic, environmental, and social—called triple bottom-line impacts. In essence, TNVA analysis is a structural approach to determine what difference a firm's existence makes to the community in which it operates. TNVA is based on the belief that firms that understand and continuously increase their contribution to societal values also ensure long-term commercial prosperity and sustainability of their operations whereas retaining their social license to exist.
