Definition
Sum of all deposits that a depository institution (bank, building society, credit union, finance company, insurance company) is allowed to take into account as a part of its legal reserve requirements. It includes cash in vault, adjusted for cash in transit to or from the central bank, and current reserve account balance with the central bank.
