trailing stop loss
Definition
A form of stock trading order that places a limit on the amount of price loss that can occur before the stock is automatically sold. Trailing stop loss orders are distinct from other types of stop loss orders in that the stop loss price is self-adjusting so it "trails" the price movement of the stock enabling traders to maximize their gains while limiting their downside risk.
