transfer pricing adjustment
Definition
A tax adjustment made by the IRS when it is determined that the pricing scheme of an enterprise falls outside the range of what is considered to be an arm's length transaction between related enterprises. Taxpayer disputes over the adjustment may be argued before a court but the burden of proof lies with the taxpayer to prove the IRS acted incorrectly.
