A U.S. Treasury Department report that tracks federal revenue and spending. Highly volatile month-to-month swings on both the income and outlay columns of this report make it useful for year-to-year comparisons. The data, the Monthly Treasury Statement, are released during the third week of each month and cover the Treasury budget as of the prior month.
