Definition
Trustees are usually charged with investing trust funds productively in a reasonable, prudent manner. In general, however, they may not invest in securities other that those authorized by the relevant statute and are restricted only to investment grade securities (rated 'Baa', 'BBB' or higher). Also called authorized investments.
