Definition
A type of insurance policy, purchased on top of other policies, that provides broad coverage for protecting the assets and income of individuals and business from claims originating from risk situations not covered in their primary insurance policies. Coverage is for liability only and is purchased relatively inexpensively in increments of $1 million.
