volumetric flowrate
Definition
The total volume of fluid that moves within a defined space over a set period of time. For example, cardiac output can be determined by measuring the volume of blood pumped through the ventricles while in a resting state and comparing it to a measurement taken during physical activity. Also called volume flow rate.
