waiver of demand
Definition
The release of the responsibility for payment upon a predetermined due date by the endorser of a note where written or verbal, expressed or implied, assent was given prior to the due date. For example, if the payor of a note requests an extension of time for payment beyond the maturity date and the payee grants the request, it is an implied waiver of demand for payment.
