Definition
Attractive environment designed to keep a captive reasonably satisfied, and requiring some cost (in effort, emotion, time, and/or money) in escaping from it. All subscription based services (such as a cable or satellite TV networks) and all choices requiring a commitment are walled gardens to one degree or the other.
