Definition
Shares issue offered to the public at prices that are highly inflated when compared with the book value of the issuer's assets. An illegal practice when it can be established that the issuer's management sanctioned it with the full knowledge of the facts, its gets its name from the cattlemen's practice of increasing the livestock's size and weight before its sale by inducing it to drink inordinate amounts of water.
